Mindelo, Jul 8 (Inforpress) – The Internet access service registered an increase of 7% comparede with the same period of 2019, with more than 648 thousand subscribers, according to a report published today by the Multisectoral Economic Regulatory Agency (ARME).
This service registered a penetration rate of 80 accesses per 100 inhabitants, at the end of the first quarter of 2020, according to the communications statistical indicators document, which Inforpress had access to.
“Thus, the number of subscriptions to the Internet access service increased by about 1%, in the first quarter of 2020, compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. In relation to the same period last year, there was an increase of 7%”, read in the publication. There were 438.645 subscriptions in the first quarter of the year, of which 89 percent (%) are provided by Mobile Broadband Small Screen technology.
On the other hand, according to the same source, at the end of March 2020, the fixed telephone line service had 56.936 subscribers, corresponding to a penetration rate of 10 accesses per 100 inhabitants, which corresponds to a decrease of 8% compared to the same period last year.
