Praia, Nov 19 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Institute for Gender Equality and Equity (ICIEG) marks International Men’s Day today, inviting everyone to invest in equality, care and responsible parenthood.
In a message released within the scope of the International Men’s Day, annually held on November 19, ICIEG was aware that, in its mission, in favor of a more equal society, no one should be left out, especially the men who constitute 51 percent (%) of the Cabo Verdean population.
For ICIEG, there is no development if gender issues “are not taken as a priority” and if stereotypes that feed male-dominated society are not tackled.
“The culture of tolerance and equality must involve everyone, men and women, starting with the way in which fathers and mothers educate their children at home and in the behaviors that are reproduced in our society”, it can be read in the document.
