Praia, June 27 (Inforpress) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is organizing a Lusophone seminar on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) for university teachers from Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau and Portugal, on Wednesday and Thursday in Praia. .
The seminar is attended by professors of the Jean Piaget University, the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV), the University of Santiago, the Lusophone University of Bissau and the Autonomous University of Lisbon aim to promote the IHL teaching in the universities in Praia (Cabo Verde) and Bissau (Guinea-Bissau).
The aim of this initiative is to strengthen links between university academic circles, strengthen the knowledge of university teachers in Cabo Verde and Guinea-Bissau in IHL, integrate IHL into university curricula and encourage the creation of an African-Portuguese academic network in International Humanitarian Law.
The training will be taught by professors from the various universities, the Red Cross of Cabo Verde, the National Commission for Human Rights and Citizenship and the ICRC.
