Praia, April 16 (Inforpress) – The re-elected president of the Movement for Democracy (MpD), Ulisses Correia e Silva, assured on Sunday in Praia that the party is “stronger” for the new battles that will be decisive for Cape Verde.
The statement was made in a press conference on Eusébio Street, in Achada Santo António, after his re-election as MpD president with “more than 90% of the votes,” according to partial data released by the Electoral Process Support Office (GAPE) of the party.
Ulisses Correia e Silva and Orlando Dias, a party deputy, ran for the leadership of the MpD in these internal elections.
“It is a great victory for the party because the members understood well what was at stake (…) more than 10,000 people went to vote, from Santo Antão to Brava, and once again legitimized my leadership,” noted Ulisses Correia e Silva.
