Praia, April 4 (Inforpress) – Exports and re-exports in Cabo Verde decreased (-10.2%), (-18.4%) respectively, in 2016 and imports increased (10.5%) compared to 2015.
Data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), released Monday, also confirmed that the trade balance deficit (13.1%) and the coverage rate deteriorated (-18.8%) from the previous year.
In 2016, trade with Europe was also characterized by declining exports (-2.3%) and increased imports (15.2%).
With regard to imports, Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands were the main countries of origin of goods from that zone.
