INE and DNRE foresee single platform to maximize data utilization

Praia, April 6 (Inforpress) – The National Institute of Statistics (INE) and the National Directorate of State Revenues (DNRE) are interested in a single platform that allows the maximization in the use of administrative data for statistical purposes.

The first step towards the creation of this platform was given today with the signing of an agreement of collaboration, which according to INE’s president, Osvaldo Borges, this is nothing more than the formalization of an existing partnership and will now be consolidated in order to avoid unnecessary efforts and costs in the collection of data that are already available in DNRE.

Three areas are covered by this agreement, notably national accounts, which measure economic growth, business statistics, and foreign trade.

“If there is an institution that has already done this collection, it already has these data, it is not appropriate for other State institutions, namely INE, to be behind to collect the same data. That is why our goal is to maximize administrative efficiency,” he said.
