Industrial Production Index increased by 3.4 % in the second quarter of 2023 – INE

City of Praia, Sep 26^th (Inforpress) – The total Industrial Production Index registered, in year-on-year increase of 3.4 percent (%) in the second quarter of 2023, representing an increase of 1.7 percentage points compared to the previous quarter, INE reported today.

According to the press release on Short-Term Indicators in Industry, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) also stated that the Industrial Production Price Index showed a year-on-year variation of 2.6% and the Business Volume Index registered year-on-year variation of 14.3%.

The statement also mentioned that employment, remuneration and hours worked rates registered year-on-year variations of 1.4% -per cent, 5.3% -per cent and 3.2%, respectively.

The same source also indicated that in this period, the extractive industry showed a decrease of 68.2%, while the manufacturing industry recorded a variation of 3.4% and the electricity, gas, steam, hot and cold water and air industries cold and water capture, treatment and distribution, recorded variations of 2.9% and 13.4%, respectively.
