Praia, Apr 7 (Inforpress) – The chairman of the board of directors of the Independent Health Regulatory Authority (ERIS) said Wednesday the pandemic presented itself as a “double challenge” for the institution, however the “greatest result achieved” was the discovery of “how to reinvent itself”.
Eduardo Tavares was speaking at the opening of the webinar on “Regulation in times of pandemic”, held by ERIS, in the context of the celebrations of World Health Day, which is celebrated Wednesday, the 7th.
According to this responsible, the first challenge was to complete procedures and services internally still in the creation phase and restructuring, so that, in a timely manner, it could respond to the emerging demands due the pandemic, which included the strengthening and re-education of financial and human resources and its adaptation to the new context.
On the other hand, he pointed to the creation of new procedures and standards for guidance of the population and regulation of the economic operators activities, which had a “huge” weight than the normal implementation of sectoral activity plans, since it involved “a lot of expertise, study and dedication”, so that the “best solutions” could be found.
