Independence Cup: Cabo Verde plays today with Madagascar looking after its first win

Praia, Jun 15  (Inforpress) – The women’s handball team of Cabo Verde play against Madagascar counterpart in Cameroon today, in a game for the CAN 2021 secondary championship, looking after for its first win in this round.

The Cabo Verdean team, who was eliminated from the quarter-finals in the group stage, seeks in this clash with Madagascar to break the series of two defeats in as many other games, in what is the first participation of the Creole women’s team in a final stage of the CAN.

Madagascar enters Cabo Verde’s path after losing 30-33 to Kenya on Monday, so Ana Seabra’s called are forced to win this afternoon’s game to play in the Independence Cup final with the Kenyans.

Already in the quarter-finals of this 24th edition of CAN 2021, Angola play against DR Congo, Tunisia play against Equatorial Guinea, Congo Brazaville play against its counterpart from Senegal, while Cameroon’s host team play against Nigeria.
