Praia, Jul 16 (Inforpress) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Minister Olavo Correia said Monday that the IMF approved the Policy Coordination Instrument (CIP), which aims to implement the reforms envisaged in the strategic plan for sustainable development.
The minister, speaking at a press conference, said that in the framework of his governance programme, the executive asked for IMF approval and support in the implementation of macroeconomic and structural programmes under a Policy Coordination Instrument called PCI, for the period from July 2019 to January 2021.
As he explained, this program will provide a solid economic framework for the country, which seeks to develop inclusive tourism for the benefit of all the islands, but also to transform Cabo Verde into an air traffic distribution platform and an international business center.
According to the official, the programme aims to create an international platform and develop a digital platform for technological innovation, expand maritime services and support local investment and diaspora opportunities.
