Praia, Apr 13 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Institute for Gender Equality and Equity (ICIEG) is underway a campaign entitled “Positive Masculinities” to get Cabo Verdean men to be ambassadors for gender equality.
With this initiative, which already has “more than 70.000 views”, according to the ICIEG president, it is intended to reach boys and men with the purpose of provoking changes in behaviors and mentalities, aiming to eliminate stereotypes with “strong” impact on families and our society.
Rosana Almeida pointed out that ICIEG’s goal is to promote gender equality and, in this sense, considers it “fundamental” to work men and also women on the issue of violence, since studies indicate that most of the victims are women and the aggressor has a male profile.
The challenges, according to the same source, remain enormous, for this reason the bet on the reformatting mentalities in order to promote new ways of experiencing masculinity.
