City of Praia, 11 May. (Inforpress) – The inventoried hotel establishments in Cabo Verde employed 9,458 people at the end of 2022, an increase of 12.6 percent (%) compared to the same period of 2021, with the island of Sal registering the majority of employed personnel.
According to statistical data on tourism, released today by the National Statistics of Institute (INE), in its Annual Inventory of Hotel Establishments-2022, the island of Sal continued to be the island with the majority of staff employed in tourist accommodation establishments, hosting around 58 percent of employees of those establishments.
Then, according to the same source, appear the islands of Boa Vista with 20%, Santiago 8.6%, and São Vicente with 6.2%.
Data from the Annual Inventory carried out by the National Institute of Statistics, at the end of 2022, also indicate that 296 hotel establishments were in operation, 1.4% more than in the same period of 2021.
