Health: Cabo Verde receives laboratory materials and consumables for COVID-19 worth 22 million escudos from WHO

Praia, Jan 7 (Inforpress) – The World Health Organization, as part of the reinforcement of laboratory capacity in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Thursday offered the Ministry of Health a set of materials and consumables, evaluated at 22 million Cabo Verdean escudos (ECV).

According to the office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Cabo Verde, the ceremony for the delivery of laboratory materials and consumables for actions to combat the new coronavirus took place Thursday, at the Ministry of Health.

It is, according to the same source, a batch of materials the World Health Organization makes available to the Government, with the aim of helping to meet national needs regarding laboratory consumables.

The donated material includes 20.000 rapid antigen tests estimated at around 10 million ECV, consumables and reagents for the automatic extractor, estimated at around 8 million ECV and 23.000 units of swabs, budgeted at about 4 million ECV, which totals the delivery value at 22 million ECV.
