Praia, Apr 28 (Inforpress) – The National Handball women’s team of Cabo Verde continues to work on a phased basis in the cities of Praia, Espargos and Mindelo for the 24th African Cup of Nations, to be held from June 8 to 18 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
According to the schedule of the Cabo Verdean Federation of Handball, coach Nelson Martins has been working for the last two weeks at the Vavá Duarte Sports Pavilion with the convened from Santiago and the assistant coach, Aquilino Fortes, guides the stage of the convened from São Vicente.
The coaches are hopeful that the convened players will be prepared to represent the country in this showcase, despite the long period of defense already exceeds a year of inactivity, aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult to resume competition.
The draw already released by the African Handball Confederation (CAH) dictated the debut of Cabo Verde in this African showcase for June 9 against Angola.
