Praia, Mar 2 (Inforpress) – Handball coach António Teixeira is available to run for president of the Cabo Verdean Handball Federation, if the current president Nelson Martins maintains his position of not re-running for his own succession.
“Tony” Teixeira said to Inforpress that despite his willingness to take over the destinations of handball in Cabo Verde, his candidacy is conditional on the final decision of Nélson Martins, because he understands that for the work done for the sport, the current federative leader deserves a second term.
António Teixeira, who has been contacted with some insistence by several handball players to run for president of this federation, revealed that a competing list is already being drawn up to be presented to the general meeting by March 12, when the deadline for the delivery of lists ends.
With a vast career linked to handball in Cabo Verde, both as a player and as a coach, Tony Teixeira has been noted in recent times at the head of the technical team of the women’s team of the ABC Sports Club, which led him to win eight consecutive Cabo Verde championships, in addition to participating in international competitions.
