Guinea-Bissau ambassador defends “some solidarity” from Cabo Verde with former Guinean combatants

Praia, Jan 24 (Inforpress) – The ambassador of Guinea-Bissau in Cabo Verde defended in the City of Praia that although it is not mandatory Cabo Verde could provide “some solidarity” to the former National Liberation Combatants from the two countries who reside in that country.

M’Bala Alfredo Fernandes spoke to Inforpress, in the framework of the celebrations of the National Liberation Combatants Day, celebrated on January 23 in Guinea-Bissau.

In the city of Praia, the embassy of that “brother country” organized an “open conversation” and lunch of fellowship with typical Guinean dishes, at the headquarters of the Fighters of Freedom of the Homeland Association (ACOLP).

“The historical burden of those who are still mutilated, orphans of wars, etc … almost the majority is in Guinea-Bissau. It is good to reflect what we others can do to those who are still there under other conditions”, he said.
