Praia, May 29 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, Fernando Elísio Freire, said today, in the city of Praia, that the Government will include elderly and disabled people in the social protection system.
The aim is to reach 100% of the population with access to a contributory or non-contributory benefit.
Fernando Elísio Freire made this statement to the press moments before presiding over the presentation ceremony of the Technical Study for the extension of medical assistance coverage to elderly and disabled people in poverty and extreme poverty, who are not covered by any social protection scheme.
The governor advanced the Government’s determination to benefit the two thousand elderly people out of the system and that need to be covered with medical and medication assistance and the 40% of disabled people without any kind of social benefit through the reform to be carried out in the Mutual Fund of the Social Pensioners.
