Praia, Jun 24 (Inforpress) – The Secretary of State for the Digital Economy said Wednesday the Government wants to ensure greater access to internet for people without capacity to pay and who use the internet as a tool in the education sector.
Pedro Lopes made these statements during his speech at the opening ceremony of the 2nd Forum on Internet Governance-IGF, in online mode, under the theme “Accessible and meaningful connectivity for all, as an engine of sustainable development”, held this Wednesday, in the city of Praia, by the Multisectoral Regulatory Agency of Economy (ARME).
The head of the Digital Economy portfolio highlighted the importance of the event, stating that there are a number of potentials that Cabo Verde can take advantage of use of the Internet to promote its development.
He said the country still faces several challenges in this area, with emphasis on the issue of cybersecurity, data protection, decentralization and promotion of digital inclusion, also advocating the need to focus on digital in the education sector.
