“Government took it with one hand and took it off with the other one”, says Spencer Lima on measures to deal with the pandemic

Praia, Dec 22 (Inforpress) – The president of the Sotavento Chamber of Commerce, Jorge Spencer Lima, said today that the Government “gave with one hand and took it off with the other one” in the matter of support to companies following the COVID -19 pandemic.

“In the beginning we always had the Government and supported the Government, but the Government, from some point on, stopped listening. We gave several opinions the Government did not take into account, did what it wanted in a certain time. Especially in the matter of support to companies, the Government took it like a hand and took it off with the other one, imposed many restrictions, many difficulties”, he stressed.

According to Jorge Spencer Lima, in an interview with Inforpress, the measures imposed in the framework of aid to companies caused “a significant number” of companies to be left out, and “so far the problems continue”.

“The lay-off at the beginning was good. But they wanted to renew the lay-off without taking into account the deterioration of the companies situation. The lay-off situation is currently being discussed, we have already given our opinion on this, we do not agree with the way the lay-off is being renewed, companies no longer have funds ”, Spencer Lopes continued.
