Praia, Jul 13 (Inforpress) – The Secretary of State for the Agrarian Economy announced the creation of a Guarantee Fund for Agriculture under the Rural Socio-Economic Opportunities Promotion Programme (POSER), aiming to leverage projects to address the rainy season.
The guarantee was given by Miguel da Moura, Monday at a press conference in Praia, to talk about the preparation of the agricultural campaign for the period 2021/2022, in the context of the actions scheduled by the Government to face the rainy season, develop the agricultural and livestock sector.
In addition to the Guarantee Fund, Miguel da Moura also highlighted the reallocation of different resources existing in the banking for the creation of an Agricultural Credit Line, to be managed by microfinance institutions.
“The current situation made it impossible to implement several projects which depended on Government funding. The ministry chose to invest in the search for funding derived from regional programs and initiatives through the International Development Fund (IFAD), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO),” he said.
