Praia, March 31 (Inforpress) – The Ministry of Sports will request an audit to ensure the good management and administration of the financial resources that the State makes available to sports federations, through program contracts.
“We have sent a letter to the General Inspectorate of Finance requesting the accounts and procedures of all the federations in order to improve the accountability process,” confirmed the minister in an interview with RCV, acknowledging that some federations have many difficulties to accountability on time.
Fernando Elicio Freire considered that this problem must be linked to the procedures or some lack of human resources, clarifying that the Government wants to have a very clear picture of this situation.
“We are making it clear that those who do not have accountability will not have access to financing,” he warned, arguing that there is a need for better accountability to “increase the transparency of public services.”
