Praia, Oct 8 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister said Thursday the Government is expected to reach 50 percent (%) of the renewable energy penetration rate by 2030, considering it to be an “important” factor in lowering energy bills in Cabo Verde.
Ulisses Correia e Silva made this observation to the press, on the sidelines of the visit to the National Directorate of Industry, Trade and Energy, to find out about the Renewable Energy Support Program (PASER).
As he explained, the program has to do with creating support for the development of renewable energies, pointing out that the goal is to reach 50% or more of renewable energy penetration by 2030.
“We have been preparing the conditions in terms of tenders for the massification of microproduction and we have been counting on good partners, in the case of Luxembourg Cooperation, to speed up this process, and it is also another way of lowering energy invoicing,” he said.
