Praia, May 12 (Inforpress) – The Government reacted with astonishment to the declarations of the PAICV (opposition) about its recognition of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco, considering that the Foreign Policy of this Government is not, and cannot be, the policy outside the PAICV.
This reaction follows the statements of the president of the PAICV, who, in a press conference on Thursday, questioned the position of the government in recognising the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.
On the occasion, Rui Semedo recalled “a great impasse” created by the claims of the Kingdom of Morocco and the war that was raging in that territory, in which the UN decided to consult the Saharawi people, through a referendum, and that Cape Verde considered “realistic and relevant” align with the position of this organization.
However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, in a statement, reacted with “astonishment” to this position of the largest opposition party, in which it warned that the foreign policy of this Government is not, and cannot be, the foreign policy of the PAICV.
