Government reached agreement to pay off the debt with US company Sterling Merchant Finance

Praia, May 31 (Inforpress) – The current executive has reached an agreement to pay the $ 410.000 debt owed by the former Government to Sterling Merchant Finance, the executive said in a note sent to Inforpress.

In the document, the Executive of Ulisses Correia e Silva points out that this is a charge that went from 190 thousand dollars (18 million escudos) to 410 thousand dollars (40 million escudos).

In light of the “seriousness” of this case and in order to clarify Cabo Verdeans, the same source reports that it received an order from the District Court of Columbia (Washington, USA) on January 16 to within 60 days to rule on the legal proceedings with Sterling.

Since then, the Government has heard of the case and, as early as February of that year, it began to deal with the dossier, he said adding that it was reached a “friendly” agreement to pay off the debt.
