Praia, Oct 6 (Inforpress) – The Government has already decided to opt for a correction of the 1st and 2nd grade textbooks that triggered controversy within the school community, re-make a new print and replace as soon as possible those that is market.
The information was released this Friday by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, in statements to the press as part of his visit to the Miraflores Educational Center, located in Palmarejo Grande (Praia city), in the company of the Minister of Education, Maritza Rosabal.
As explained by the head of the Executive, the new printing will be made in Cabo Verde, through a public tender, and the manuals will be made available without charge to the people who had already bougth them.
Concerning the controversy surrounding the textbooks, Ulisses Correia e Silva said that in the school visited today, as in the others, teachers and students are adapting normally to the new textbooks, making the necessary corrections without harming the education/learning system.
