Praia, Apr 13 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Finance Olavo Correia said on Tuesday that the Government is working in an engaged manner to achieve the objective of the “magic goal”, that is, the elimination of extreme poverty in Cabo Verde.
Olavo Correia made these remarks to the press in the context of today’s high-level dialogue with the European Union Ambassador on the contribution of EU-funded Budget Support 2021-2024 to achieving the Government’s extreme poverty eradication targets in 2026 and supporting renewable energy.
“This agreement with the EU is very important, reaches an amount of EUR 18 million for the period 2021/2027 and will cover three important areas, the first being the elimination of extreme poverty in Cabo Verde by 2026, which is an objective of citizenship, in favour of the dignity of the human person,” he said.
Secondly, it will allow, according to the Minister, a penetration of renewable energies of 50% into the network by 2030.
