Praia, Mar 2 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Culture highlighted the strong social impact of the “Access to Culture Scholarship” program in the fight against social exclusion, with a strong integration through art/culture, focused on the empowerment of the next generations.
Abraão Vicente, who visited this Monday, the “Dança & Arte Gorreth” school, in the Plateau, “Projecto de Vida”, in Zona 4 (Ponta d’Água) and “Escola Vivarte”, in Pensamento, was “very proud with the program”, although it was not managed directly by the Ministry of Culture, an institution is outside the logistics or payments of teachers who provide classes.
From his visit to the Gorreth Ballet school he mentioned as being the “maximum example of the successes of this program”, since the Culture Scholarship allowed the instructor to have decent space to reveal her potential, receiving, in the center of the Plateau, children from peripheral neighborhoods such as São Pedro and Latada.
That is why he considered that Culture Scholarship has been showing how much art can empower the next generations of Cabo Verdeans, in this project in which there is already a return, essentially in the fight against social exclusion, the result of a strong social integration through art and culture, in the minister’s view, has a strong social impact.
