Praia, Jan 16 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Defense said this Sunday that the Government expects to conclude this year the review of the Strategic Concept of Defense to respond to the social and economic changes that the country and the world have experienced in recent years.
Such challenges, said Janine Lélis in her speech during the commemoration ceremony of the 56th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Cape Verde, resulted in new measures for defense and for its military component.
“It is to respond to these challenges that we assume in this mandate to implement a set of reforms with a view to providing the Armed Forces of Cape Verde with more means, but above all with strategies to upgrade them according to the current and future challenges”, she said.
According to the minister, this reform is starting by revising the Strategic Defense Concept, “the guiding instrument of the future” that together they will design and build.
