Government cuts subsidy to the Association of Combatentes da Liberdade da Pátria – Paula Moeda

Praia, Jan 19 (Inforpress) – The president of the PAICV Women’s Federation, Paula Moeda, revealed this Wednesday that the Association of Combatentes da Liberdade da Pátria is in a “difficult” situation, especially after the Government cut the subsidy of 80 thousand escudos per month.

Paula Moeda made the statements in statements to journalists, after visiting the headquarters of the Association of Combatentes da Liberdade da Pátria (ACOLP), to find out about its functioning, challenges and perspectives, within the scope of the celebrations of January 20, Day of National Heroes.

“We want the calls of national heroes and heroines to have content, not to be just a mere beautiful word that every year there are also beautiful celebrations, we want them to have content and sustainability and that the institutions are respected by the State of Cape Verde” , she underlined.

For Paula Moeda, if today Cape Verde is an independent country, a credible state with democracy, it is because these men and women fought and gave their lives for this archipelago and beyond.
