Praia, Dec 5 (Inforpress) – Minister of State Fernando Elísio Freire highlighted health gains in Cabo Verde, calling for continued WHO support to mobilize resources for island countries in the African region.
The Minister of State, who is also Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Sport, made these statements Wednesday by presiding over the opening ceremony of the 7th.

Fernando Elísio Freire stressed the importance of the meeting, adding that it will allow the strengthening of public policies among the island countries of the African region in building the most resilient health system with the highest quality in the provision of health services.
In this context, he recalled the Government’s initiatives regarding the implementation of policies for the promotion and improvement of the National Health System, emphasizing, over the years, the investments made in this area allowed the creation of a responsive health system to existing challenges.
