Government awards all former BCV governors with first degree of professional merit medal

Praia, Feb 12 (Inforpress) – The Government of Cabo Verde honored all former governors of the Banco de Cabo Verde (BCV) with a first degree of professional merit medal, as a way of honoring the institution’s credibility history.

The act, which took place this Thursday during the inauguration ceremony of the new BCV headquarters, was chaired by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, who justified the gesture with the need to recognize the personal and professional contributions of former governors who passed through the institution.

A tribute, which according to Ulisses Correia e Silva, also extends to administrators, directors, managers and workers, and in his perspective, the BCV has a course that merges with the history of the archipelago and indelibly marks Cabo Verdean sovereignty, as an independent country.

“BCV’s role in economic and financial stability and confidence was and is decisive. It acts and intervenes in areas are our main assets. Stability and trust, low reputational risks are the main assets of any country and must be protected, cared for and always improved ”, he stressed.
