Praia, Mar 27 (Inforpress) -The Government approved the new financing regime for the public radio and television service and the collection of the audiovisual contribution.
This measure is contained in Decree-Law No. /2019 of March 20, published in Official Gazette no. 32 of March 20, to which Inforpress had access today in the City of Praia.
According to the Government’s announcement, this new regime, called the Audiovisual Contribution, will redefine the mechanism to guarantee the financing of the public radio and television service, taking into account the implementation of the transition project from the analogue television broadcasting system to digital terrestrial – DTT in Cabo Verde.
The decree-law, which has already entered into force, provides for a social regime while maintaining the exemption to consumers of electricity with a monthly consumption of up to 40 kwat and a reduction of 20% for electricity consumption between 40 and 60 kwat.
