Praia, Oct 16 (Inforpress) – The SIACSA leader, Gilberto Lima, announced this Thursday a national strike of guards for the 26th and 27th of this month and warns that, this time, they will disrespect the civil requisition, if the Government adopts this measure.
The Union of Industry and General Services, Food, Civil Construction, Agriculture, Private Security Sector, Maritime and Port Services (SIACSA) president explained that he will mobilize security guards to disrespect an eventual civil requisition because, he said, “recently another union called a strike and the Government did nothing”.
“There cannot be two weights, two measures and we cannot be discriminated against in our own country,” said the union official, adding that the strike by guards can be called off if at this time the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice and Labour solve the problem affecting private security personnel.
Among the claims, Gilberto Lima pointed out “excessive delay in the publication and implementation of the PIR [Indicative Reference Price for the security guards”.
