Praia, Mar 2 (Inforpress)- The general director of the Atlantic Music Expo (AME), Gugas Veiga, highlighted the “very positive” impact of the AME on Cape Verdean culture, artists and economy.
“The feedback has been positive for the artists who have participated in the AME. This year, for example, was very good, we had several artists who had shown abroad and who made contacts in terms of future agencies”, he stressed, exemplifying the singer Ineida Moniz who had shown in Portugal, June, in the United States of America , Mário Marta Scúro Fitchádo and Ceuzany.
The director general of AME considered 2022 to be the “most positive” year for Cape Verdean artists, also meaning a year of return for international artists who participated in the event, namely Karina Gomes, from Guinea-Bissau.
The official considered that the impact of this international event “is very big” for culture and, above all, for the Cape Verdean economy, noting that they have not yet been able to calculate its real impact, since a study of this nature costs “very expensive”, the organization is looking for funding for this purpose.
