Praia, Aug 29 (Inforpress) – Strengthening administrative and political capacity to eliminate discriminatory measures against women is one of the proposals contained in the Action Plan for the Promotion of Gender Equality in the Workplace, socialized today at Praia.
In a statement to the press, the plan’s consultant, Mónica Ramos, explained that the document defines a set of guidelines related to the constraints that women face in the labor market, namely working conditions, promotions and everything that implies the implementation of the principles of equality of treatment and opportunity.
“The plan covers four dimensions, namely institutional, strengthening compliance with obligations relating to international labor standards, communication and the dimension of national laws, which seek to analyze and see to what extent national legislation respects the international commitments established by the Cabo Verdean State,” she said.
Mónica Ramos, who spoke to journalists on the outside the socialization workshop of the Action Plan for the Promotion of Gender Equality in the Workplace, said that to reverse this scenario will require measures that have to do with strengthening the inspection capacity, strengthening the understanding of gender equality issues by labor administration and strengthening the application of the constitutional principles derived from International Labor Organization Convention 110 and 111.
