Funding continues as one of the “major challenges” of higher education institutions

Praia, Oct 2 (Inforpress) – The promotion of the training offers with quality and the financing of tuition fees in higher education remain major challenges for public and private institutions in Cabo Verde, which begin the 2017/2018 school year.

On the eve of the start of another school year, Inforpress wanted to know the perspectives, constraints and challenges of public and private universities and institutes, and found unanimity on how the issue of financing is a national concern.

The number of applications for higher education in the first and second phases is maintained in relation to the previous year, according to information provided by universities and institutes, and the third phase, called “extraordinary”, is the period with the highest attendance especially for students who compete for scholarships and vacancies abroad and were not selected.

For the president of the Higher Institute of Economic and Business Sciences (ISCEE), Amadeu Cruz, this year, the institute is committed to maintaining its degree courses, focused on qualifying the training offer and consolidating the quality and rigor of the teachers .
