Four dozen young people ready to join the merchant marine with training for sailors and drivers

Mindelo, 16 May (Inforpress) – A escola do Mar-EMAR (The School of the Sea) has concluded training activities for 43 young people, 24 of whom are sailors and 19 are drivers, which it launched into the job, merchant or fishing market.

The Training was financed by the Ministry of the Sea, through the National Directorate of Fishing and Aquaculture, and, at the ceremony of delivery of the certificates, last weekend, the Minister of the Sea reinforced the Government’s commitment to the creation of employment opportunities for young people.

According to Abraão Vicente, young people need to be trained for the job market, responding even to the market’s demand for new staff, both nationally and internationally.

“The Government will continue to work for the continuous improvement of training and to ensure that the blue economy contributes to the country’s economy,” reinforced the holder of the sea.
