Foundation says protocol with university will allow “a great work” on Amílcar Cabral and the country’s history

Cidade da Praia, 11 May (Inforpress) – The president of the Amilcar Cabral Foundation (FAC) said today that the protocol signed with the University of Santiago (US) will make it possible to do “a great work” on the legacy of Amílcar Cabral and the history of Cabo Verde and Africa.

Pedro Pires made these statements to the press during the signing ceremony of the protocol between the FAC and the University of Santiago held today, and stressed that this partnership will reinforce closer ties and the development of joint cooperation activities.

“It is not the first time, nor the beginning of this cooperation, of this joint and common work, but it is its formalization through a protocol for the Amílcar Cabral Foundation. It is something very important because within the framework of the work we are doing in the organization and preparation of the centenary of the birth of Amílcar Cabral, there is a part that is dedicated to working together with Cape Verdean universities”, he declared.

According to the President of the CTF, this preparation and organisation of activities related to the centenary of Amílcar Cabral is “something important”, considering, however, that it is “hard work, requires time, planning, cooperation and partnerships”.
