Praia, Oct 6 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde players Ryan Mendes and Héldon Ramos have called on all Cabo Verdeans to believe in the Blue Sharks, stressing that they are one step closer to realizing their dream of being in the World Cup, in Russia.
On the penultimate workout day for Cabo Verde on Thursday, taking into account Saturday’s game against Senegal, Ryan Mendes and Héldon Ramos “Nhuc” were invited to talk to the press.
With two games to reach the World Cup, the striker Ryam Mendes of Kayserispor club (Turkey) despite nervousness and pressure, hopes to achieve one of his dreams of being a player of the national team and leading the country to a World Cup.
“It’s something I’ve always dreamed and hope to achieve … but it’s not easy, because the Senegal team is an extremely strong team and with players playing in the best championships in the world. However, as they say, the game is won on the pitch and we hope to win on Saturday,” he said.
For the striker, representing the country is one of the best things that will have happened to him, so during training, he said, everyone is focused on one goal, which is to “play well” and beat the opponent.
Meanwhile, striker Héldon Ramos “Nhuc”, who missed out the last two games, said he “is happy” to be back and ready to help Cabo Verde get the World Cup pass.
