Porto Novo, Oct 15 (Inforpress) – The Municipal Stadium of Porto Novo, in Santo Antão, continues behind closed doors, a measure is related to the advanced degradation of the grass at this sports space, already with 12 years of use.
Clubs and sports initiation schools have already requested the reopening of Municipal Stadium, but the Regional Football Association, the manager of this space, limits its reopening with the need to make improvements to the pitch resulting in risks for practitioners.
The president of the Regional Football Association, Fernando Lima, explained to the clubs this measure is to “ensure the safety” of players.
“The authorization for the use of the field will certainly come out on the day we have improvements on the pitch to ensure the safety of practitioners and, above all, our children,” Fernando Lima told clubs.
