Football/North Santiago: Varandinha retains unbeatable status after ten games

Praia, Apr 20 (Inforpress) – The Varandinha do Tarrafal club, winner of the regular stage of the North Santiago regional football championship, remains invincible after ten games, adding six wins and four losses.

Coach Daniel Cardoso, also known as Angula, continue to make the difference in this championship, then record five wins and four draws in the group stage, and are increasingly confident with last week’s 1-0 win in Santa Cruz, in the first round of play-off against Inter do Cutelo.

To Inforpress, Angula praised the importance of this victory, out of doors, so he said he believes this triumph will serve as “another tonic” to galvanise the club for wednesday’s game against São Lourenço dos Órgãos, in the Municipal Stadium of Tarrafal.

Angula said for the next game his team has some increased concerns about the injuries of Cabo Verdean international midfielder Tchubasco and central defender Dá, which is why the two athletes are in doubt for Wednesday.
