Praia, Sept 2 (Inforpress) – Former Cabo Verdean international referee Manuel Duarte, currently a FIFA-accredited training instructor, is apprehensive about the “low physical level of the current situation of Cabo Verdean women’s arbitration”.
This was the most referenced Cabo Verdean referee in terms of football, exemplified the fact that only a single auxiliary referee in the total of eight candidates have obtained a score required in the physical tests of the elite referee course held in Praia, warning that “they may be up to the level in technical and knowledge terms, but they fail in the physical chapter.”
At a time when the demands are increasing, especially for the arbitration class, Manuel Duarte recalled that the conditions are also higher and the instructors themselves demand more from the referees, when the new technologies incorporated in football force the practitioners to work redoubled.
He highlighted to Inforpress the way FIFA has included Cabo Verde in the list of countries benefited from this training course in which the new concepts and methodologies have been addressed.
