Praia, Feb 25 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean international defender Gegé, who is currently away from competition, told in the City of Praia that next season will return to work after a “sabbatical” leave.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday, the 31-year-old said he intended to take a “sabbatical” leave to settle some personal matters and rest, but assured that it was not for lack of proposals. “I hope in May something positive will happen so that I can resume my career,” he said.
The player added that this “sabbatical” leave also has to do with the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, since he spent three years in Al-Feiha, Saudi Arabia, where the disease affected many people, including himself, and he decided to take a year off.
Gegé acknowledged that the Blue Sharks’ evolution in recent times is a “bit slow” but has been convinced that the National Team will give a good response in the last two games and qualify for CAN 2021.
