Sao Filipe, June 13 (Inforpress) – A wine cellar technician from Chã das Caldeiras will participate together with Canary Islands, Azores and Madeira technicians in the first symposium on viticulture in Macaronesia, organized by the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, on 14-16 June in the Canary Islands.
During the symposium, experts from Macaronesia will focus on topics such as “the physiological behavior of life in subtropical conditions”, “experience in vineyard”, “soil as a key element of subtropical wine content”, “plagues and diseases of the vine and its control in subtropical conditions”, as well as visit to vineyard and wineries.
In addition to these themes, three round tables on “management of vines under conditions of cold restriction”, “management of soil, pests and diseases in subtropical conditions” and “obtaining quality wines” by experts from Macaronesia.
The particularities of climate and climatic factors such as temperature, rainfall, water availability, light hours, cold, among others, have a great influence on the development of the grapevine, fruit performance and composition, and on the quality of the fruit itself, refers the invitation note addressed to the winery Chã.
