São Filipe, Jan 30 (Inforpress) – The “Rotas do Fogo” project, co-financed by the European Union and implemented by the Italian NGO Cospe, promotes a training cycle starting this week covering the areas of local agri-food processing, associativism and cooperativism and agrotourism management.
The coordinator of the “Rotas do Fogo – model of agrotourism as a reinforcement of local organizations of rural and sustainable tourism in the island of Fogo” project, David Solazzo, said that by 2019 several activities are planned and in addition to the rehabilitation of the external part of the forme president house, in the forest perimeter of Monte Velha, there are several training courses on three themes.
The first training course, which starts on January 31st, in Mosteiros and then replicates in Santa Catarina and São Filipe, covers the local agri-food processing sector, namely on the principles of agroecology with practical classes on preparation of fertilizer and organic pesticides for combating agricultural pests.
The training, lasting for 12 days and divided into four weeks, is addressed to community development associations and non-member producers.
