Sao Filipe, April 25 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva, who starts a nine-day visit to the municipalities in Fogo and Brava region, presides over this Tuesday the presentation of the emergency plan for the management of Cha das Caldeiras.
The proposal of the emergency plan for the management of Cha das Caldeiras, which came out following the volcanic eruption of 2014 and destroyed the main villages of this locality, was prepared by a multidisciplinary team, involving technicians from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Land Planning And Housing (MIOTH), National Institute of Land Management (INGT), Directorate General for Environment (DGA) and the National Civil Protection Service, in partnership with a technical team from the Canary Islands.
The technical team responsible for preparing the plan arrives this Tuesday to the island, to present this document and after its presentation in Cha das Caldeiras will be until May 15 in a public consultation for the collection of contribution in this locality, in the Municipal Councils of Santa Catarina (Cova Figueira) and on the facilities of the Ministry of Infrastructures at Praia City.
After presiding the public presentation of the plan and witnessing the signing of the agreement between the island of Fogo and Lanzarote (Canary Islands), the Prime minister will travel to Brava on Wednesday and then return to the Fogo Island, where he will remain until May 4, as part of the trips to the municipalities of the country, under the theme “economy of the islands and culture”, focused on the development of public policies for the development of the islands in a balanced way and according to the specificity of each one.
