Fogo Island: Acrides promotes training on combat to sexual violence against children and adolescents

Praia, Aug 22 (Inforpress) – The Association of Disabled Children (Acrides) promotes a training course called “Combat to Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents”, between August 21 and 25, in Fogo Island, aimed at professionals and community leaders.

In statements to Inforpress, the president of Acrides, Lourença Tavares says that this is a partnership action between ECPAT Luxemburgo and ECPAT Brasil, whose purpose is to establish concepts, principles, guidelines and preventive actions in the fight against sexual violence against children and adolescents.

“With this training we want to raise people’s awareness about this issue and create Local Networks, which will be the driving force behind future actions of prevention and combat, as well as the link of the National Network,” she said.

And because Acrides’ primary objective is to promote and defend the rights and duties of children / families, she stressed, nothing more “gratifying” than training people to be attentive, participating in community life, denouncing cases of abuse and demanding policies to stop such a phenomenon, she noted.
