Municipality Day: “Brava” brand presented to the public through Renda Brava products Nova Sintra, Jun 24 (Inforpress) – The first collection by Renda Brava products project, which represents the Brava brand, was presented to the citizens of Brava, in an exhibition organized by CNAD and the City Hall, in Nova Sintra. At the inauguration, the director of the National Center for Art, Crafts and Design (CNAD), Irlando Ferreira, showed that the exhibition and the brand represent the achievement of a “very great” challenge, because working from São Vicente to Brava, through digital means, “is completely different” than when working in person. As he pointed out, since 2018, when the project began, they were already aware that it would be a challenge, but the motivation of the creatives, both designers and the hand-embroidered made by women, made the CNAD and everyone involved bet everything was possible so that the project could get to what it is today. According to this official, the hand-embroidered made by women in Brava no longer exists for several years, and the CNAD wanted with the project to bring hand-embroidered made by women that had identity and symbology with this island, explaining the care the team had in carrying out the work. São Filipe, Aug 18 (Inforpress) – The inter-municipal controlled landfill in Genebra  to serve the three municipalities of the island will occupy an area of four thousand square meters and with the possibility of extension to six and even for its duplication.

The information was revealed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANAS), Cláudio Santos, after the signing of an agreement with the Association of the Municipalities of Fogo and Brava for the construction of this sanitary infrastructure.

The landfill is located South of the irrigated perimeter of Monte Genebra and involves the construction of at least one access road, with an extension of 600 meters and three hydraulic passages (PH) on the three existing water lines between Monte Genebra and the chosen site. The place was visited on Tuesday, the 17th, by the Minister of Agriculture and Environment (MAA),  Gilberto Silva, and other local and national authorities.

Cláudio Santos, within framework of the agreement for the construction of the inter-municipal controlled landfill, recalled that each island or municipality should have its solid waste management plan, and in the case of the Island of Fogo, the plan was prepared by ANAS, under the financing of the Environmental Fund of Portugal and was presented and socialized with all municipalities and social partners in 2019.
