São Filipe, Jul 27 (Inforpress) – The delegation of the Cabo Verdean Institute of Children and Adolescents (ICCA) holds a holiday camp for 40 vulnerable children from the communities of Achada Furna, Cabeça Fundão and Chã das Caldeiras, in the municipality of Santa Catarina do Fogo.

The activity, which takes place in partnership with the Natural Park of Fogo and Amor FATI Project, lasts for 40 days and takes place in the Chã das Caldeiras since July 18.

The ICCA delegate for the Fogo/Brava region, Samira Teixeira said that the holiday camp has as main focus the elimination of child labour, stressing that one of the means to combat this social evil is to bet on the diversity of playful-pedagogical activity, because the ICCA believes that it is an important tool for personal development, social and intellectual rights in this age group she explained.

With the holiday camp, ICCA and its partners intend to raise awareness among civil society on the problem of child labour and mobilize partners to collaborate with the project so that it can be achieved successfully.
