São Filipe, Oct 18 (Inforpress) – The Italian priest Orfeo Guerrino Marchesan, 80, who for more than 30 years is member of the Capuchin Order was found dead this morning inin the Sao Lourenço Parish residence at Fogo.
The information was annouced by the Sao Lourenço Parish leaders, which is run by the Capuchin priests and who lived in community. According to one of the priests, Orfeo Marchesan complained in recent times of some health problem, especially from last July and did not eat well.
Also on Sunday night, his companions asked him to go to the hospital, but he refused to do so, saying that today he was going to a city clinic for consultation, but death took away this possibility.
Father Orfeo Guerrino Marchesan was born on June 1, 1941, in Italy, and his ordination took place on March 11, 1967, 54 years ago. He was on a mission in Angola, mid-1974/75, having returned to Italy and then went to Cabo Verde where he worked in the islands of Sal, São Vicente and Fogo (first in the Mosteiros where he spent more than 10 years and then in the of Sao Lourenço parish, in the last 11 years).
